The GlobaLocal Church is a 21st century application
of the missional church of Jesus and the Apostles in
the 1st century. In spite of the label, it is not another
model of church among the many options today. Nor is
it a style, size or brand of church. In fact, both seeker
churches and teaching churches; house churches and mega-churches;
those with a equipping emphasis or those whose specialty
is worship can be a globalocal church. The more effective
they are globally, the more powerful the local ministries.
It merges, converges, blends together and the kingdom
is extended.
For Jesus and for the churches that came after Him,
they were global and they were local at the same time.
Their reach was regional and international. . That's
why this "globalocal" thing is not a new thing
it
is the reemergence of something that is as old as the
church itself. In the GlobaLocal Church the focus is
"going". "Growing" is the bi-product.
No matter where you touch a GlobaLocal Church, it oozes
a passion for the King of All Nations. It bleeds with
a heart of sacrifice for His cause near and far. The
people in this church make decisions, use money, parent,
mentor, get educated, serve others, build friendships,
and go to work with an orientation that longs to know
Jesus and participate uniquely with Him in seeking and
saving individuals and groups separated from The Truth.
In a GlobaLocal Church, its mission infects every department
and every age group.
GlobaLocal Churches are humbly guided by leaders who
have been personally captured by God's love for the
lost in their own cities and communities
and those
bound up in darkness cross-culturally as well.
Things somehow come into focus when looking at church
life and Christian living through globalocal lenses.
The people of a GlobaLocal Church worship and experience
God as Universal King. Their hearts beat, their feet
move, and their mouths speak so as to see Him glorified
in their own lives, in their families, in their church,
neighborhood, city, nation, and world.
GlobaLocal Churches understand how plentiful the Lord's
harvest is and they are - from top down, bottom up,
and side to side - joining Him in redeeming all peoples,
near and far, back to Himself.
