Dear Friends,

Neil Cole and Paul Kaak, who were with us for a GlobaLocal Convergence seminar and Conversations about Organic (House) Church Planting in mid-October, will be back January 11-13, 2002 for a weekend retreat on planting organic (house) churches. We hope that this "greenhouse" will lead to house church planting movements that will help "bring in the harvest" in our region. If you or someone you know may be interested, please read on for full information.

Why have an organic church planting Greenhouse?

There's a movement afoot in postmodern America. It's a movement toward spirituality...into relationships...for purpose. People are looking for these things---and they are finding them---in the occult, self-made religions, and grass roots social action groups. And sadly, it's a movement away from church. People just aren't waking up on Sunday morning saying, "HEY, I think the church is what I need to provide meaning and hope!" What's more, there's a lot of Christian people and leaders who are longing to do church in a fresh, more "organic" way.

It's time for the church in America to learn how God is moving with power in the growing church around the world. It's time for us to sit at the feet of missionaries and martyrs who have quietly planted the gospel in places of hardship...and still seen incredible fruitfulness. It's time for us to make choices that might mean we trade in our personal dreams and visions for the glory of God and the gladness of all peoples.

The Organic Church Planters' GREENHOUSE

The Organic Church Planters' GREENHOUSE provides a supportive environment for Christian leaders who are choosing to function in ways similar to the apostolic role of the New Testament. It is for leaders who aren't just interested in planting a church---but rather, in churching a whole city and a region. It's for those who are willing to get their hands dirty in the soil of lost people. It's for those wanting to make a globalocal impact from the ground up.

Location: Come join us for an initial kick off retreat January 11-13, 2002 in Spokane WA at the Wholly Ground Coffee Company, 9119 East Broadway between Argonne and Mullan from 6:30 PM Friday night through Sunday noon. For more information, call 509-624-7287 or 562-961-1962, email prestonjackson@qwest.net or resourcescma@aol.com, or visit www.organicchurchplanting.org. Registration information is below.

The Greenhouse components

The GREENHOUSE retreat gets the process started. During an informative weekend, church planters gather from a local region for a comprehensive overview of the organic church planting process. Via "the Big Picture", this retreat brings the organic approach to life and gives a compelling and exciting framework for reproducible church planting.

The GREENHOUSE Monthly Gatherings follow the Retreat with tools, skills and connections with other leaders. These gatherings happen once a month, usually for about three hours in the evenings or on weekends so as to include bivocational Christian leaders. Each gathering will equip particiapants for a greater harvest of disciples, leaders and churches through teaching, interaction, worksheets, reflection, worship, prayer and relationships.
