for the Harvest "Report
(what
God has been doing in the Spokane area)
The Mission Spokane Servant Leader team called together
the leadership of the Church of Spokane. Over 230 pastors
and leaders attended the October 27, 2000 breakfast,
representing over 100 congregations or ministries.
The morning presentation was based on starting at a
broad focus and gradually sharpening the focus down
to our personal responsibility.
The focus started with the Inland Northwest, then narrowed
to the Church of Spokane (or the city they represented),
the presentation narrowed to our neighborhood and local
congregation and then narrowed further to our personal
life.
After presenting a short history of Mission Spokane
by Tom Starr, numerous people (Dan
Grether and others) reported on what God has been
doing. These presenters included Joe Wittwer reporting
on the Church Planting Ministry Team; Cathy Donavon
on the Spiritual Mapping Team; Rodney McAuley on the
Intercessors Team and Carl Hampsch on the Discipleship
Team.
Glen
Weber discussed how the Servant Leaders had been
away for several retreats to hear from the Lord and
the results of what they heard. This included an overview
of the ministry teams reaching across the city, but
also Community Transformation Teams reach down into
each area of the city. Glen also emphasized the need
for all of us to be a Lighthouse in our neighborhood.
 A
Community Transformation Team is a group of pastors
coming together for prayer to seek the will of God for
their community - be it a small town or a neighborhood
within the city of Spokane.
Mike Steele
gave the biblical basis for what was happening and spoke
about what God is doing elsewhere and the relevance
of what is happening here in the Inland Northwest.
Tom Starr concluded the morning with a strong emphasis
on three areas the Servant Leaders would like to see
others focus on:
- Personal holiness and humility
- Personally and congregationally being a Lighthouse
in their neighborhood
- Becoming a part of a Community Transformation
Team with other pastors in their area.

REGISTERING
AS A LIGHTHOUSE AND FINDING YOUR NEIGHBORS
We have available software that can print out the names
of the people on your street and the streets parallel
to your street. Although it is not always accurate,
we do receive updates each year. This software also
notes your address as a Lighthouse and also prints out
the other Lighthouses in your part of the city.
Arty Bartlett is the volunteer for Harvest Software
which gives people a printout of their neighborhood
so they can more effectively pray for their neighbors.
