A memorial service was held for our beloved Pastor/Leader
Tom Starr this past Saturday, September 8, 2001. Pastors,
friends and family from Spokane and all over the nation
and world attended the service. There were over 1,600
people in attendance at Valley Fourth Memorial Church.
Tom was best known for his love of Jesus and his passion
for Spokane. He was a pastor's pastor and mentor of
scores of pastors in the Spokane area. His vision for
Spokane started years ago when he formed a pastors prayer
group that continues today.
Tom's wife, Betty, was greeted after the three hour
service by many people whose lives were touched by Tom
and Betty through the many years in the Spokane area.

Scores of pastors and family spoke about their memories
of Tom and his three grandsons, Ryan Floch, 20, Andrew
Floch, 19, and James Starr, 19.
Becky
Paul, Tom's daughter, admonished the assembled friends
and family to not forget the legacy left by her father.
She said that "he would not want us to grieve his
death but to move forward doing the work of the Lord."
She also said that "this is a time for all of us
to look inward and really see what life is all about."
Are we living our lives worthy of our calling? Are we
reading our Bibles and spending time in prayer? "My
dad's death is a wake up call for all of us."
